Everyone around me has the same/same car as me.

Why didnt I buy the Lada Cossack I had my heart set on instead of the MDX? Do you have any idea how many soccer moms drive an MDX?

Really....when your biggest concern is that your 2006 Infiniti is embarrassing you, you maybe need to spend some time with malaria victims in Botswana.

Seems they all LOOK alike even if different companies make them.

only when I got my '93 camry did I realize how many camry's of that generation are still on the road! at a light the other day there were FOUR of us in beater mid '90's camrys!
286K miles, still buzzin along...

LoL they call LADA NIVA -Cossack over there?
Those are actually pretty good on off road and simple as a door to work on.

I definitely have the same car as everyone around here.
The 8th gen Civic has to be the single most popular particular generation of car in SW Ontario. I was even on my way home last night surrounded by 3 8th gen SI's (on the same stretch of road) and when I got home, 2 SI's in my parking lot at my condo. Not to mention a bunch of other regular 8th gens. Insane how popular they are here.

I thought maybe you lived in my neighborhood and had a Subaru wagon. Seriously, I wonder how people around here can identify their cars in the Whole Foods parking lot...

Fortunately I don't have that problem.
I had friend a few years ago with a newish Civic that he parked in a large multi-story car park. When he returned to what he thought was his car and unlocked the door (still don't know how that happened) got in but wasn't able to start the car. It took him quite a few minutes before it finally dawned on him that it wasn't his Civic. He was on the wrong floor.

There are solutions to this very serious problem (HaHa), some are more expensive than others.
-Go upmarket. The more expensive the car the less likely soccer moms will have one.
-Choose a model that simply doesn't sell very well or didn't sell very well and was discontinued which is even better.
-If you can stand it choose the least popular colour available.
This way you'll atleast be able to find your car in a parking lot of similar clones although you may have trouble getting a good value for it at trade-in time.

That's why I prefer oddball or rare cars.

Get a G wagon, only 500 are imported every year. Its a rare SUV.
