Ever had heated or cooled seats?

Our newer Forester has them as does my old BMW.
To the guy with the old Benz, the heaters are electric and probably shut down to prevent excessive draw on the electrical system.
We don't have this problem with either the newer Forester or the old BMW.
Maybe Mercedes cheaped out a bit on the alternator in your car?

No, it's pretty standard. Having a timer costs more than just a 3 position switch. At least the newer models have cooled seats as an option, in the past, those options were limited to the higher end models.

Having a timer costs zero since only software is needed to implement it. As I indicated above, we don't see the seat heaters shutting themselves off with either our newer Forester or our old BMW.
The driver and passenger make the call on that.
OTOH, a robust enough electrical system to enable run time on the seat heaters to be as long as the driver and passenger deem them necessary does cost money.

All our cars have heated and/or cooled seats. I love the heated seats in the winter. Cooled seats don't really do anything for me. Maybe they do help, but not enough for me to use them. In our particular cars, the cooled seats are audible - I don't like that.

The CLK has heated seats but hardly ever use them, our RX350 has both and I love the cooled seats, even this time of year when I use them after lifting weights the help cool down on the way home. They're a must in summer anywhere it gets above 90 degrees on the regular. They're my favorite feature of that SUV

Mercedes has had it as an option on their S class. They also have heated and cooled cup holders on the GLS.

Yeah, my Charger had those, however in a strange twist, the Jeep doesn't

Yeah, I've been in vehicles with the seat coolers that are audible, it's a bit odd. My Jeep and my previous Charger both have/had cooled seats, yet don't seem to make any noise. It isn't a future I use all that frequently however.

In my Charger, you can hear when the seat cooling fans are running, but it isn't a very loud noise.

My 1988 M6 had a separate A/C system for the rear seats that also cooled the rear console. It was great for long trips.

I am probably just not mashing the 'go' pedal hard enough.

That may be accurate give your signature still says you are on the Factory Fill

We are already at 12,000Km on the truck, and I think we've had it 4 months now. Ms. Britches is closing in on 40,000.

So are you liking the diesel? I'm considering a Grand Cherokee Trailhawk with that engine; it's a bit more than I want to spend but it is really impressive.

Yeah, we love it! Gets great mileage, tows the boat like a champion and is surprisingly ballsy due to the amount of torque it makes, despite the 240HP.

Just had the oil changed today due to time limit (6 months), at 1,300 miles.

I never have for myself - I'm basic when it comes to transportation, but getting older & more crunchy, seat comfort is becoming more important for my next vehicle purchase, and wouldn't mind having heated/cool seats, but I'll focus myself for better comfort first I think.

Now the wife and her Lexus, I know she really likes it. She has mentioned she loves the adjustable heated seats in the morning when it's cold.

Thanks!

Adjustable, massaging, heated, and cooled seats with heated steering wheel.

Don't always use those features, but man, they sure are nice when I do!
