Hello all:

I've been using the XD-3 in my vhicle (5.3L GM)for the past few changes, but had to substitute Duron XL for the last change. Now it's time for another change. I went out and bought 6 L of ESSO Extra 5W30, suitable far gasoline engines, rated SM II. I was looking for ESSO Ultra but couldn't find any, do they still make it?

Where does this oil fit on the quality meter? It was quite inexpensive, I have used formula shell in the past, a comparable product. I found it was OK, never was really satisfied with the hot oil pressure and found the dipstick coked where it sat near the exhaust manifold.

I'm gonna do this change, monitor the oil pressure, dipstick and deposits under the filler cap.

I can't help you on the dino oil. Why don't you just use the Esso Extra XD-3 synthetic oil? It's relatively cheap and can be bought at any Esso card lot.

I switched my 95 Maxima over to XD-3 0w30, PAO, full synthetic on February 4 at about 62,500 miles.
