Hey there! The Euro Oil community was very helpful regarding the wife's BMW.
Enter the daughter's Saab! It's a GM masquerading (poorly) as a Euro-car, so I'm posting here instead of there. :ROFLMAO:

2004 Saab 9-3 Arc 2.0T, 160k miles, Minnesota weather, lots of short drives.
I'm thinking 5k OCI, but I welcome the opinions (and experience!) of the community.
What oil do you recommend for this application?

Manual Spec: GM LL-A-025, 0W-30.
Not sure what the former owner used.
Cost is a moderate concern; she leaks.
I've read the spec is superseded by Dexos 1 Gen 3.
I've read 0W-30, 0W-40, and 5W-30 are all acceptable.
I trust this site a little more, and value your opinions.

Thank you kindly!

M1 0W-40 with possibly a bottle of good-quality stop leak like AT-205.
I’d suggest a HM oil, but I don’t think any are A3 rated anymore, they are all too thin unless you have access to M1 HM 10W-40…if they still make it.

Here are a few previous similar posts and threads, perhaps these are of some use to you:

Sometimes I feel like you were born just for doing this.

I had that coming. My cursory search was too rushed and too narrow. ;)
I'd rather have help delivered with playful sarcasm than rubbish delivered with a smile.

Internet on, my oily friends.
