Engine cutout after driving through puddle

Did you charge the battery? How wet was the intake? You could drain the oil, to check for water. Maybe the starter is jamming the flywheel. Maybe it's stuck in gear. I'd think you'd at least be able to turn it a little one way or the other.

Impacts won't turn heavy massive things like a crank. They are meant for lightweight things like nuts and bolts.

That all said, scrap this car.

The starter puts enough torque on it to twist off the crank pulley bolt-- it's an old redneck trick. You can already see this ain't happening.

Even if you got a running engine for this thing, ask yourself if water got into the wiring, would you then tear your hair out chasing those problems?

200k is a little early to put this dog out to pasture but the convenience of a non-flooded replacement will probably be worth the sub-$2k you'd pay.

Yea, I had high hopes of it getting up to 300k+. This was my first car too. I'm going to try taking off the starter and then perhaps removing valve cover and then taking the engine apart just out of my own curiosity. On the other hand, I might just use my AAA tows to get some a shop to professionally look at it and then tell me it's a goner.
