Ecogard x111 C&P

Ecogard x111. Came off a 2001 Buick Lasabre with 10k on the oil and filter. Replaces it with a purolator PL1011 red can and Coastal 10w30 Synblend. Was surprised to see it had fiber end caps. Looks decently made and did the job. The adbv was very stiff but i think these engine have a internal adbv?

Pretty sure it has a BYPASS valve in the front cover, by the oil pump(?) A lot of older GM oil filters had no bypass nor ADBV, but an ADBV never is a bad idea, especially on a horizontally mounted filter. Looks like your Ecoguard had no bypass in the leaf spring?

It might be the bypass I'm thinking of. I don't see one in this filter.

Nice job cutting and posting this filter, thank you. At the Ecoguard website, it rates this filter for 5,000 miles and says it has metal endcaps. Yours went 10k and looks great and has fiber endcaps that look like they held up really well too. I like this brand. I bought an Ecoguard cabin filter and it too was really robust.

Not sure where to get them. The guy bought this car last year and the previous owner had the oil change done before he sold it.

Amazon has them, I use there cabin filters, the oil filters are on there as well

It might be the bypass I'm thinking of. I don't see one in this filter.

Lots of older GM engines have the filter bypass built into the engine.

I like this brand. I bought an Ecoguard cabin filter and it too was really robust.
