ECHO, ECHO, ECHO, I've NEVER been disapointed yet! Buy from a dealer, the few extra dollars more if any will be worth it many times over later if you need the dealer for parts, service or advice. I won't use anything but Mobil Racing 2T oil in all my 2 strokes. Best oil I've ever used!

Nevermind, I bought an SRM-210 and never looked back!

I just bought the 210i . I like the idea of just shoving in the pre-cut string. You can go with .105 diameter string. Very cool. Two thumbs up for Echo.

I bought my Echo SRM210 at home depot. I would have preferred to buy at a local dealer but I had a 20% off coupon at the home depot and the local echo dealer would not budge on price. I saved $40 bucks at home depot.

I really wanted a shindaiwa but with my coupon I could not pass on a brand new echo srm 210 for $160.

This is my first echo and I like it a lot.

How does the i-start system work? I don't think I need it, but I'm curious. :-)

You just cut two pieces of trimmer line about 8 inches long and shove them in the two holes in the hub from the outside. They just lock in place. You remove them (if one breaks or is worn) by pulling it out (from the inside of the hub). I highly recommend it. It was 20 bucks more.

Yeah, but how does i-start work? What in "i-start" makes starting so much easier?

I really don't know. It just pulls very easy.

I think there is some sort of decompression valve that makes it easier to overcome the compressive force on the first few pulls when nothing will happen anyway, and the mixture gets develloped in the combustion chamber.

But I very well may be wrong.

i-start is a spring system. When you pull the cord you wind the spring, at a certain point it releases to turn the engine over several times quickly. This means you don't need to yank on the pull rope fast enough to start, just a long slow pull.

Craig.
