about 1 year ago I put EaO 09 in my Scion
Immediately after, I could see tiny lint "strings" when looking through the oil fill hole (1-2 per square inch). Thinking it is "normal" for new EaO, I ignored it, and eventually "lint" greatly diminished. However, now it is back, I can clearly see 2-3 lint particles on the dipstick and through the hole.
Is it normal? Sadly I do not have a camera.
8000k miles on EaO and ASM 0w20

OH, my...on my last two motorcycles, the LINT factor was horrendous on the first OCI. After that, it was gone. I could only surmise that it was from the shop towels/environment during assembly. At 14,500 miles, all that would seem to have been filtered out by now.
Are you thinking it's filter material that has broken loose from the oil filter?

Possibly, It only appeared after I put in EaO. This is 3rd OCI on this car. Previous filter was Pure1 and I did not see anything like that, before that was factory fill.

Well, when you take the filter off, look in the center tube. If you actually see physical lint ..and it's originating from the filter, it should be evident with a visual inspection.

I imagine that you'll be looking inside the next filter you put on.

If you know what the center tube looks like, it would have to be stringing out of it like spaghetti ..

Save the thing and send it to Amsoil for inspection.

After I've pulled my own EaO apart, I cannot figure how it could have "produced" any lint (as in "decaying" media). The media is backed by a fine mesh. Now if there was something sitting in the center tube upon installation, that surely could produce something.
