Ea020 in a newer Honda

Maybe this is a taller or larger diameter version of the #13?

I'd love to run a bigger filter, but them Honda engines really don't give much room for expansion in this department, mine included. The Pilot filter sticks into the wheel well on the passenger side, so anything bigger would make an easier target for road debris to attack.

Amsoil specifies a EAO20 for 92 Civic or Accord (among other applications).

Here's a round about way to compare filter specs:
1) use Amsoil online application guide to find applicable EA & Wix filter part#
http://www.amsoil.com/scripts/runisa.dll?amsoiloaf:index
2) Go to Wix filter lookup http://www.wixfilters.com/filterlookup/index.asp type in wix part #, click search, click on the underlined Wix part # for filter specs to compare.

For example, Amsoil application guide specifies a Wix # 51334 or EAO20 filter for a 92 Civic & a Wix 51356 or EAO20 filter for a 05 Civic. Comparing specs for the two Wix filters, outer filter dimensions are a little different, burst pressure is different, but both have same gasket dimensions, thread size, & by-pass valve PSI setting.
If I recall correctly, I’ve used Donadson filters website to do a similar application/spec search/comparison.

According to that table, Pablo, the Ea013 has a bypass rating of 8 to 11psi while the Ea020 is rated at 11 to 17psi. Is that significant?

PSID Not significant. I guess the size was larger on paper. The 20 hardly looks larger than the 13. Oh well. I doubt it would cause any fit issues on many Hondas.

The EAO20 is also used in my '95 Integra, I have one in my stash. It's a pretty large filter, bigger than most. The Napa Gold 1334 however, is the widest filter I've used. Does Amsoil recommend the EAO20 for your ody? Off topic: I was in Superior, Wisconsin for the past week or so and I got to see a large Amsoil distribution center (I'm assuming it's their main one, since they're based in Superior?) with lots of neat trucks with Amsoil logos all of them. I didn't find their headquarters though... maybe next time!

Is this correct? The 13 and 20 have 20X1.5 threads. So it looks like no EaO fit.

Ody calls for a Ea013.

I've never been to Superior, just got this yesterday:

AMSOIL Center Expansion
AMSOIL Prepares Major Expansion in Production Capabilities

From humble beginnings in a single small building, AMSOIL INC. has steadily grown to more than a half dozen buildings in three Superior, WI locations with more than 650,000 square feet of office, production and warehouse space. AMSOIL recently announced a $15 Million Expansion Project of storage, blending and productive facilities in Superior. The new expansion project to lay foundations for future growth is now set in motion. Highlights of the expansion project are as follows:

*
Increase annual blending capacity by 2.5 times.
* New bulk unloading area will be constructed on the west side of the building for rail car and tank truck receipts. The structure will provide covered containment for the staging of up to six (6) rail cars with capability to load/unload three at a time versus our current one car at a time. The area will also provide tank truck capacity for loading/unloading of four (4) trucks.
* A new bulk tank farm will be built on the north side of the building. The tank farm will be enclosed to improve operator safety, eliminate storm water contact with the process, and reduce weather-related temperature variations in the product.
* An indoor tank farm will be constructed to store lower volume base oils and additives as well as bulk finished products
* Existing packaging lines will be relocated from Winter Street building to the AMSOIL Center.

All existing personnel and functions will be moved from the Winter Street Plant to the AMSOIL Center.

My girlfriend's mom lives in a nearby town there, so I get to go there pretty often. I'll have to try to get some pictures next time

I'm sure she knows where most of the facilities are.
