E-10 in Missouri?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I read in the paper last night that all of Missouri is using E-10 whether it's posted on the pumps or not. It said Missouri had repealed their labeling practice so no stations had to post ethanol content and that all stations, even early last year had switched to E-10 in all grades without telling their customers.

E-10 is being used in Oklahoma as well and has been for a long time. State law does not require posting either.

Not a big deal; it has been used in New England for years as an oxygenate (sp?) as a replacement for MTBE to improve emissions, years prior to the ethanol labotomy this country is going on. Pumps in CT are labeled but there is no 100% gas being sold AFAICT

Ok..please explain the E10 part..when I first read it I had E-85 on my mind.. also, how is this going to effect motors that aren't made for this stuff..I:E motorcycles... Thanks

E10 made my snowblower very hard to start. Shell Canada puts the ethanol in regular grades, while the rich folk with expensive cars that need premium get pure gasoline. I got a jug of premium for the machine, and it started really easy.

They are selling E10 where it snows ???

Corn doesn't grow in the snow, and neither do snowblowers start on ETOH blends in the snow.

Ethanol itself keeps for a very long time.

My Toro / 8hp Techumseh Snowblower would be surprised at that! Starts up and runs fine on E10. Keep the gas fresh or stablized with no problems...

As far as E10 where it snows, Minnesota (whether we like or not) has mandated E10 year around since the mid '90s. Corn grows just fine up here in season, and dried corn stores for a long time.

Youre right, it is better to use things that grow where you use it. Does crude oil grow fast where you live? :)

Really? I didn't know that. Maybe that's why my Accords aren't getting all that great gas mileage and maybe that's why our fuel prices have been historically lower than most other states.

We've had Ethanol in California since forever. I haven't noticed a MPG difference in my 2.2L Ecotec - but honestly I haven't really tried to compare since the only time I can is when I drive out of state (rare).

E-10 has to be good though... thats less foreign gas we are burning. Yes?
