Just acquired a case of this stuff from my not so well stocked PC dealer. Dont know how its a blend at 0W30 but it was definitely cheaper then getting GC 0W30 (11.99L) vs (6.18/L)

Definetly going in the malibu for this winters oci and if it holds up good might be my new winter oil untill PC dealer gets the PCMO 0W30. As well as having a pour point of -51 C it has a nice TBN of 9.1

Are you planning on using this in a diesel engine? It is only rated SJ for a gasoline engine, which means it should only be used in 2001 and older gasoline engines.

Cowboy, if that were true we would only be using GC in 2001 and older vehicles...

Since the API donut reads "CH4/SJ", that means the oil is formulated primarily for diesels, and for diesels only up to the 2002 model year. SJ means that it can be used in gasoline engines up to the year 2000.

PC makes awesome oils - the cold-weather numbers on that stuff are GREAT.

Even though the SA numbers are high, unless your engine burns a ton of oil, it shouldn't cause a problem.

Thanks for the pics!

One thing I still don't understand is why PC offers a Duron XL syn-blend 0W-30, AND a full-syn 0W-30. Seems like a bad amount of overlap to me.....

Actually i asked my distributor for the normal one and they dont carry it something about it doesnt sell well and theyre sending more of the blend

I have a feeling that GC is rated higher than SJ. According to the API, SJ should only be used in 2001 and older gasoline engines. The Mobil 1 equivalent of GC is rated SM.

There is no Mobil 1 equivalent to GC. The closest thing is M1 0w40, and it's now SN.
