Driving in the South

All those bullet points you made are the result of people moving to the South from CA, WA, MI, IN, OH, PA, NY, IL, MA, NJ, DE, CT, NY.

Do you want to continue the discussion?

I assure you that in AL, less than 5 years ago, you COULD use your cruise control, signals were used and most all other common, idiotic behavior behind the wheel was not present.

"The city of Northern Charm and Southern Efficiency"

Well, except that I don't find that most folks in, say, the midwest are as uptight as your average Northern Virginian.

I watch Steve Lavimoniere on YT (he's a plumbing/HVAC contractor in Mass) and some of the things he says to his customers would have just about anyone in Virginia having a conniption, but probably more so in Northern VA.
His accent is so thick it reminds me of why I hate driving through MA on the way to Maine. You are 100% right though, he is not one to BS a customer just to make them feel good.

Not really, there are bred in tendencies in the south just like the north that will never leave. The love it or leave mentality is one of them. Also we at least agree on the fact that FL should be its own island at this point.

Case in point my town never seen an uptick in crime or horrible drivers til Covid and those fleeing the south. Plenty of southern plates in the city now that are on ol' hoopties with bald tires where yearly inspections are not a thing.

The *worst* driver that I personally know (I would not get into a car he's driving) is at least a 5th-generation Virginian. His latest wreck involves zoning out or falling asleep and waking up to find his passenger side grinding against a guardrail.

When I did get into his car with him driving (before it became clear that was a bad idea) he'd regularly drive in the left lane without passing anyone.

I assure you that no real southerner moved or fled the South during the Chinese biological war. I promise.

While I agree that there are plenty of cars on the road with bald tires, there is no need for annual rust bucket inspections in the south. Our vehicles last 30+ years. I have a 10-year old vehicle that looks like it was just rolled off the showroom floor underneath. With a nearly-new set of Michelins on it.

Just made it to Iowa. There seems to be a lot of meat packing going on. The Tom Arnold Museum of Arts and Sciences looks interesting. There's some corn. I will have to say, all of the cars have some type of magic button people use to drive without having to use there foot on the gas. After a ditch picnic, I believe get in the left lane for the long ride home.
You need to stay for the state fair. It’s a dead pig and a tractor that won’t start.

I am very jealous of that. I saw a 2008 or so F150 that looked shiny new while I was passing it in my 2014 Town and a country that has rust pimples about to burst open.

You can always vacation in the northern half of the US. Folks in the south really dont care what you think. I always find it absurd that northern folks complain about the south but move and vacation here. Stay. Don’t come.
Not sure why people think the South is "slower" or worse than up North. I've driven all over the southern states. The North is just as bad. I followed someone today on my way into work that couldn't decide if they wanted to go 35 or 55 on the same road with nobody in front of them.

That person finally turned and I was fine for a few miles until a car pulled out in front of me and had a hard time keeping it in between the lines then almost ran a red light.

:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

No they don't and every rubber bushing is trash just like up north.

Much of Floridas problems can be described by this weighted population age distribution graph
