HI All,

I need a little help. I have a 2023 Genesis GV80 (Prestige AWD) in which I am struggling to find a suitable fluid for the transfer case. The rear diff is an eLSD, which specifies Shell TF0870 C. For this I think I am going to use Ravenol DTF1.

The transfer case specifies Fuchs ATF 134 MPT. Upon contacting Fuchs, they recommend Titan TCF 1 however I cannot find anywhere stateside that sells this. From my research, this fluid is just an MB 239.41 spec fluid https://operatingfluids.mercedes-benz.com/sheet/239.41/en Searching for ATF 134 returns ATF 4134, which does not look to meet MB Spec 239.41.

Google suggests Ravenol DTF 1 for use in the transfer case also, however I am hesitant as the owner's manual calls out two very different products for the diff and transfer case.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

According to Gemini:

Fuchs Titan ATF 134 MPT
MB 239.41
Genesis/Hyundai transfer case oil part no. 00232-19107

Shell TF0870C
BMW DTF-1(TF-0870)
Infiniti 999MP-TF0870P or KLD22-00001EU
Porsche 000-043-301-36 or 000-043-305-63

For the Transfer Case if dealer oil is cost prohibitive or unavailable, people choose some "analog" like
https://www.fuchs.com/es/en/product/product/144956-TITAN-TCF-1/
...as Fuchs advised , or :
I'd get something similar that "claims performace of..." and give it a try.
........

Shell TF0870C oil is for the actuator side of the rear diff.

Not sure what the difference between "B" and "C" iteration could be,could not find info.

I'd just check the level and leave the change for other time (wonder if it even has a drain plug for that section).
...........
The hypoid section gets API GL-5 ,SAE 75w-85 LS fluid (75W-85 LSD P/N: 00232-19075)

Here is what Fuchs recommends for NZ :

I would definitely change this and the Tr.Case fluid.

Wow, thanks everyone for the great responses.

What about the dealer??
That's a great start. I didn't even think of that. I've emailed them asking if they stock and sell the lubricants, will see what they carry.

jghall00, I'll need to look into that transfer case oil number from Hyundai. I see it's for ATF SP 4 M1. That's a great place to start, I have found a little extra research is needed on the ai answers as originally Chat GPT told me MB 239.41 wasn't a real spec.

rollins, as far as I've found, the difference between the B and C iterations are just newer updated specs but they should be backwards compatible- weirdly the TSB lists each independently.
That TSB you found is extremely handy for fluid specs. I have actually had the rear diff (JX1) recall performed, although they only needed to tighten the hypoid nut and no fluid change was logged on the invoice.

I may end up going with that Pelican Parts Mercedes fluid you found. I've been having real trouble trying to find anywhere online that stocks Fuchs TCF 1.

In the end I wasn't aware there were two fluids in an eLSD. I don't think I need to change the actuator fluid on either unit, but just the lubricating oils for the gear sets themselves.

Glad I helped some.
I might be wrong, but on gv80(jx1) transfer case the electric motor actuates the plates in a diffrent manner and has no separate fluid (all you need is the Fuchs 134 MPT / Fuchs TCF 1)

An old thread concerning some other Magna transfer cases :

At least Hyundai provided fill and drain plugs...luxury options nowadays.
