Don't Tell The Wife

aquariuscsm, sadly, that phone number can't be dialed from Texas. Comes back to Boise, NY so if anyone in NYC wants to call and see if they can score THE HOTTEST PRODUCT IN THE MOTOR OIL MARKETPLACE, then be our guest!

If this is such a collector's item, I'd have them beating down my door by now. As I have said on here before, I have much older stuff in cans (cases of Valv, Pennsoil and cans of Arco/Sunoco and others). Anyone want to buy it? This QS I'm using is still fairly "new" oil in my stock! She does run it on longer trips once a week to heat up the oil some, but mostly it is a very short tripper.

The thing that bugs me about this is that at this point, that oil is a collectors item. You could sell it to a collector, or keep it as a 'historic example'.

By using, it, you just throw it away. But, if you ARE doing this, I would defintly want to see a VOA or UOA.

Yah, I'll admit it, I'm cheap! Seems to be a waste to have all that oil laying around not doing what it was made to do. Seems dumb to spend twice the $ on the UOA than what brand new oil would cost but if it works out that the oil is fine, I'll have plenty of cheap oil to run in that car! I just though BITOGers would like to see what the results were, as would I. I'm doing this for all the cheap fella's out there too. BTW I got the oil for free! Heh, heh.

I am telling your wife.

As long as your wife remains clueless, its all good

The engine is noticably quieter, seems to have more power, and gas mileage has increased from 26 MPG to 29 MPG... The vent is somehow shooting out coins by the bucket fulls too! Man if it keeps doing this she's gonna know I did something to her car. SHHHHHH, don't say a word!

Good point. I forgot to take into account she was a woman.

Ok, I still have a ways to go on this oil. I was curious as to what (if anything) I should tell Blackstone when I send in the sample? Should I say exactly what it is and how old? Should I not tell them anything and see what they come up with? Should I tell them its QS 10-40 but not how old it is? I would like to hear your comments.

If money isn't an issue, send one sample with all the info, send another sample telling them only what weight it is. If money is an issue I would choose the latter.

I've seen these kinds of posts from folks. "no more oil changes to it explodes" "I'm going to use 25 yr old oil in my wife's car" I bet the OP will mix one quart of the oil with 4 qts of SM oil to be on the safe side. who wants to bear a wife's wrath?

Your a day late and a dollar short my friend. I DID put 4+ quarts of this oil in her car. I WILL get a UOA from Blackstone on this and I WILL post it here. Oh, ye of little faith. I bear the wrath of my wife on a daily basis, nothin' new here. If I though for a minute that it would hurt her car I woundn't have done it in the first place. I would just like to see how the oil held up (or didn't hold up). If its [censored], then I'll use it as chainsaw bar oil. If it holds up ok then I'll do it again, and again, and again, just to use it up and to say Nah Nah Nan Na Nah Nah!

How would your wife find out? I could put any oil in my wife's car. She would never know because she don't care. If it takes her and brings her, she's happy.

My guess is the oil will work fine.

Tell them it was brand new Pennzoil Ultra 5W-20. They'll probably tell you everything looks good and you can extend the oci out another 10k miles.
