DONE with FRAM filters

FWIW, a guy on the Freestyle forum had the exact same experience--replaced a very old Motorcraft filter (no rust) and had a Fram fuel filter completely rusted in a pretty short period of time. So, you're not alone on this one.

The Motorcraft filters have always worked well for me, but I'm not in a rusty climate.

Bosch doesn't make filters - at least not sold in the US.

They used to get filters made for them by Champion Labs, but I understand they signed an agreement with Purolator for their most recent products.

I too am done.
It staggers me how the loyal supporters continue to object to any reference to the "orange wall of doom".

I put it in quotes because some other member came up with that line and should get the credit.
Not like this complaint of filter failure is new.

Just to be clear, the rusty fuel filters were a number of years ago. On Saturday, I had the one from my company van auto-disassemble, which is what drove me to start this thread.

I was done with their oil filters after seeing how cheesy the OCOD is for the money they charge, and since they love putting useless glop in their filters (DoubleGuard and High Mileage). I was willing to give the Ultra the benefit of the doubt, but now I'm not so sure. I think I'm going to adopt Mr. Incredible's philosophy:

Just as I choose not to give any of my money to ExMo, I don't want to give any more money to FRAMpion, either.

I just finished changing the fuel filter on my Jeep and I installed a Wix. I made it home before I saw that it was made in China. Grrrrrr......
I believe my next brand of fuel filters that I will try will be Motorcraft. RockAuto sells them for most brands.
