be made in Canada, but gm is really pressing it as an American sportscar?I know the last gen was Canadian, but I dont see any mexican corvettes{yet}.That is if they are really going to produce it?Starting to look like its a pipe dream...

It will be just like the retro style Ford Thunderbird a few years back.

A few people will buy the car and then it will fade away for the very lasy time due to poor sales.

It is an American sports car . Made in Canada , The continent of America. It is not a United States sports car. So G.M. is the heartbreak of America.

The have a start on it. The manuel transmission in Corvettes is made in Mexico.

I disagree. Look at the success of the new "retro" Mustang.

Big difference. The new Mustang is a real improvement to an existing car with some retro overtones

The Camaro is just a goofy looking retro that has lost track of its roots.

I believe the Camaro will be for sale in about a year or a little more.

Personally I think it will sell fairly well. It definitely has retro overtones to it, maybe more so than the Mustang but not much. It has a lot of modern touches to it as well, it looks pretty nice. The biggest problem is they haven't sold one for too many years and they've lost their customer base. It will be hard to win those buyers back so I doubt it will be as successful as the Mustang.

Designed in Melbourne Australia not to be confused with Melbourne Florida and on the Holden Commodore chassis etc. We design/build better cars in Oz than the U.S. GM boss Bob Lutz agrees. We do use U.S derived engine but upgraded substantially in Fords case but bog standard in the case of most Holdens (GM). For some reason Ford U.S won't use Ford Oz product, strange as they ae in so much strife

I think you have the camoro confused with the gto. That was a Holden. It was dropped because it couldnt pass rear impact standards. For some reason you guys on the other side of the world are allowed to put a fuel tank behind the rear axle. The camaro is being built on GM's new Zeta chassis, which really has its roots in Germany with Opel if memory serves correct. It just pains me that it isnt being built in US.Pontiac couldnt shake the gto's imported status,no matter how good the car was.BRING BACK THE GRAND NATIONAL,made in the US of course.

Second that. But until that happens I'll be holding on to my 87!

I think it will be a niche vehicle with a small following. This following, however, has other capital expenditures that will far out-weigh the Camaro's coolness. These expenditures include retirement accumulation (now theres a corker!), school costs for various off-spring, and rising healthcare and energy costs. Very poor timing for this introduction IMHO. I would say the Mustang has done well... and I hope I'm completely wrong for GMs' sake. The Riviera and the T-Bird did not fare as well as our friends at Lexus and Acura already had that market sealed-up. The late twenty-somethings' freshly minted from grad. school will more than likely opt for an Asian product as their driveways are stacked with these cars? A 45 mpg Corolla/Civic fighter w/b a better offering.

Even the Corvette has a bit of Canadian content in it, as the engines are built up here in Ontario also (the LS3s anyhow)

I havent had wood like that since Mary Jane Rottencrotch showed me her pretty pink panties. When I saw the GTA I had to change shorts.Well played, sir.

I agree as well, FWTW. I have been fortunate enough to own some really fine cars in my lifetime, and the Australian cars are as good as anything built anywhere - and considerably better than most.
