I'm finding I go straight to the GC area on BITOG....skipping over the rest. Do you??? Are we hooked on GC? Or, what?

Yep, I freqent the GC section the most.

The other sections contain a great wealth of information, but I sometimes find it to be "too" opinionated. (Car and Truck Gas Engine Oil / Auto & Lubrication General Topics come into mind.) Don't get me wrong, people should express themselves!
Then again, the GC section has a mob/cult mentality...

I find this section interesting also. I switched 2 of my vehicles, a 2001 Ram 1500 2WD 5.9, and a 2004 Ion 2.2 Ecotec. Both run smoother and quieter. Even my 21 year old daughter who drives the Ion asked what I did to her car because she could not tell the car was running while stopped at a traffic light. Neither vehicle has shown a decrease in MPG. I have a 05 Mustang GT I would love to switch over but that 4.6 calls for 5w-20 and I believe the GC would just be too thick.

Yes, I read the GC topic area first. I have been running 0w30 GC in my Mazda 6 2.3L I4 for some time now and I'm very happy with the engines quieter sound and ease of starting in cold weather. (It calls for 5W-20 and I previously used Mobil 1 5W-20). I do not care much for the 5W-20 synthetic oil. I'm sticking with Castrol GC year round !

I run a Ford 5.4 which is basically the same engine on GC and it loves it,i would have no second thoughts about switching to GC yesterday.
