Pluto has long been controversial as a "planet". If they classified Pluto as a planet then there are 4 or 5 more bodies in the solar system that would also qualify. In my opinion they did the right thing to strip Pluto of it's full planet status.

I agree. Removing a planet from the "Big 9" is silly. What's next with these silly scientists? I suspect they will be looking at Uranus even closer now.

Let's just hope they don't remove Uranus, too.

I can remember when:

The 22nd of February was George Washington's birthday.

The 12th of February was Abraham Lincoln's birthday.

Pluto was a planet.

Why dont we rename the sun...uranus, rename uranus...pluto, and rename pluto...sun. Then we can keep pluto a planet and can say the sun is not a planet, while also saying that we are circling uranus.

I thought biologists had the definition of what a plant is. Pluto doesn't fit.

Now as for Uranus - plant life is a real possibility.
