Do these wires contain asbestos? J2 rocket wiring

Decades ago, some kid removed wiring and a data plate off a J2 rocket engine on display at a theme park while waiting in line for a roller coaster.

I just came across these items in an old envelope and it got me thinking, considering the appearance of the wire sheathing, could these wires be covered in some type of asbestos?

The wire / data plate came off the bulbous part of the engine.

This does not look like asbestos. Touch it with a match or lighter, if it does anything like melt or curl its not asbestos. I have not seen asbestos wrapped wire since the 50's and it had cotton wrap over top of it.

Another vote for no. I've had modern high-heat wires (like to an oxygen sensor and my oven igniter) that look exactly the same.

Asbestos is more crumbly, at least the common kind.

That's probably fiberglass insulation (very, very likely). Common on high heat wiring, as fiberglass is tough and extremely heat resistant.
