Do people still use brief cases anymore?

I used briefcases for 31 years, both as a teacher and an administrator until I retired.
However, during that time I transitioned from the hard side Samsonites to soft side ones that are more like satchels.
I had a smaller one that I keep personal business documents in. I still use that and utilize it as a "Grab Bag" when I meet with my financial guy, accountant, etc.
I also have a bag for my laptop equipped with what I need for that, as well as what I need when dealing with my newest assigned task, taking care of my 80+ year old FIL's bills and business affairs.

I went to the backpack 15 years or so ago. Backpacks made for the office, Lululemon men's casual pants and "executive sneakers" are all Godsends! Don't miss the 90's red tie and power suit dressing days one iota.

When I was going into the office I did, and also got a brief-case like bag for the computer rather than a backpack. It was easier for me to handle two bags by the handles than to balance a backpack and briefcase.
