Hi All,

Which would be better for my Vulcan 2000? I have one quart of Amsoil 10w40 but need 4 quarts of something else to make the 5 quarts for my bike and want to know which is better.

You'll love the way it will shift with either 15w40 or 10W-40 Amsoil: use it in my ZX-11D & in the Valkyrie Interstate.

Well, actually I went with the quart of 10w40 AMSOIL I had and bought a gallon of Castrol Actevo 20w50. They are both good oils and should server me very well. I was amazed to see my manual call for 7500 mile OCI's. I thought it was a typo but maybe these larger V-Twins can go further especially with 5 quarts of oil.

Well, with the price being close to the same for Actevo versus Rotella Synthetic it seemed easier to use the motorcycle specific oil. I am very pleased with the feel of the bike after the oil change.

I would use the Rotella dino 15w40. I believe it meets the Jaso spec for the clutch.
