Hi,
I have a question for you, what is the difference between oil and DEXRON III DEXRON III H?
I have the Amsoil ATF DEXRON III-H in the instructions I have written that recommended for my power steering fluid is DEXRON II or DEXRON III.

Is D-III-H has some special add-ons compared to the normal D-III?
What are the differences between these fluids and the last DII DIII DIII-H ??

regards

Dexron IIIH has some improvements over Dexron III. I don't recall what they are. The main thing is Dexron IIIH will work in and backspec for Dexron II and III requirements.

I wonder if these improvements can better pumpability, resistance to foaming ....
Anybody got any nearer info?

Yeah, D-VI is ONLY an AT specification. It is not for use in MTs and other applications as a replacement for dex III.

Dex IIIH came out when GM was making a push towards 100k ATF changes, 100k coolant changes, and 100k spearkplug changes... It is more shear-stable and "better", and what Id choose for places where dex III and II are spec'd.

That's speculation. We have never had confirmation from an official GM source that that is the case.

Another thing to keep in mind is that Dex VI is more sheer stable than Dex III. Some think Dex VI is too thin for Dex III automatics but in actual service Dex III can end up being thinner.
