with a traclok rear end. Our wally world has synthetic shell 80/140. I know nothing about gear lubes and just want to make sure this will be ok. Thanks.

80W-140 would do fine, just don't forget to add the friction modifier. Motorcraft Synthetic 75W-140 and friction modifier is what it comes with from the factory IIRC.

Thanks for the replies. This friction modifier, is this sold at most auto parts stores?

I'm not sure about its availability to be honest. But I know a Motorcraft one is available through dealers.

XY-75W140-QL with a bottle of XL-3 is what the car had from the factory. if you take the cover off, use silicone to put it back on as there is no gasket for that application from FoMoCo.

IMHO I wouldn't go thinner than 75W-110 LINK

Thanks pablo.

RTV sealant would be a good choice I would imagine.

Are you guys using anything to clean out the rear end after draining the fluid? Like an aerosol spray of some sort?
