Has anyone tried April super flo gear oil? Im doing the diffs on my old trailblazer this weekend and came across this brand at Napa. The price of $7.49 qt is tempting.

do you have the G80 option (at least I think that was the name)? If so, you will need special fluid for the rear, as it has a locker. I believe Mobil 1 has a fluid that includes the special anti-shudder additives.

No , i just have the normal open diff . I was either going to get the April super flow, Shell spirax or Pennzoil Platinum . The price of the April super flow i could fill both diffs for the cost of 1 qt of the other brands, i just dont want to buy it and find out its complete garbage lol

Not familiar with the brand, appears they're in Canada.
I'd be surprised if NAPA sells anything that's obviously counterfeit or below standard.

How much longer do you plan on keeping it?
If less than 5 years and 25K miles...use whatever. If this is a long term vehicle, perhaps consider something better.
For me, that would be a beater car, and it would get the cheapest I could find at Walmart to keep it moving...usually supertech brand. Looks to be less than $6 a quart right now.

Their proformer brake pads and tie rod didn't serve me all that well .

Its got around 275,000 km so im trying to be as cheap as possible on the old girl. Yeah i always seem to forget about super tech brand

Is that a thing or marketing jargon?
That is likely a thing of some sort but mostly marketing jargon. I doubt they are saying it for no reason whatsoever but there's no industry standard for whatever "nano" means. It could be anything regardless of how minor.

Oil molecules are nano. Perhaps that is it.

G80 does not use additives,

Redline offers an option that covers both the original P/N and superseded P/N for G80 differentials.

Did some looking instead of relying on my memory...it has been a long time since I had a G80.
You are correct, they DO NOT need special additives, my mistake. Good catch! @Furious

I was wondering about this, too, as soon as I read it. Didn't think the GovLock needed anything special (except the patience of a saint to wait for it to engage once you're already stuck)

if you have the gov lock diff, use something without any limited slip additive. It will function better and prevent damage from slower engagement. That's my experience. Diff fluid with limited slip additive delays engagement of the locker resulting in it slamming on after traction is lost. Without the limited slip additive, it grabs quicker, reducing wear and tear.
