Great stuff! I haven't done a UOA, but I ran it in a sludger for two OCIs, and hapened to have the valve cover off for various reasons before those two OCIs and after those two OCIs. It was clearly visible that Delo 5w40 really did do some cleaning. I had pictures, but changed phones since then and lost pictures in the process. It was not a night and day kind of difference, but more like twilight vs moonless night. Just for comparison - Rotella T6 0w40 did not provide this engine with the same results. Delo 5w40 is great oil - use it with confidence. Could be placebo, but it did made the valvetrain chatter disappear slightly compared to most 5w30. Just my experience with it. Definitely would (and will) use it again.

We have had it here a good while too. I have been wanting to try it but they only have the jugs, two of which are 40 bucks ouch!

Good thing you do not have a diesel. My Powerstroke uses 14 qts. So 4 jugs.

Or mine, which takes 7.5 gal - but only every 2-3 yrs. Oil cost $38/gal last batch, but good for 1200hrs/40K mi. Makeup oil 1 gal/10K mi

Prior to selling my TDI, I ran Delo 5w40 (with the 5th partial quart being delo 15w40) for two or three intervals.

We have it at the local Walmart for $1/gal less than RT6.
I stuck with RT6 for my oil change this week, but I was tempted to try the Chevron.
Maybe next time.

look at this comparison thanks to our friends over at Bob is the russian oil guy:

seems like they're all 3 much of a muchness on paper.

EDIT: I was convinced there was 5w30 in the title. Even so, interesting comparison. Maybe a mod can move this

When I had my 2002 F350, 7.3 Power Stroke, it held 15 quarts. The 7.3 was made for Ford by International. It was a great motor.

I bought 9 gallons of Delo 400 15w40 at Costco for a little over $90, is it possible to do a blend of say 2 gallons of 15w40 delo with a gallon of the synthetic 5w40 Delo in my 1998 Dodge with the 12 valve Cummins for the winter and is there an actual advantage to possible doing this?

Last time I needed oil Walmart was out of T6 5W-40 and had the Delo 400 for $20, so I picked up a gallon. Seems to do the job fine in the Jeep so far, although it's really more like 3 quarts of Delo and 2 quarts of leftover T6 in the sump...

Why would you mix them?
Use the syn in winter

To get it closer to a 10w40 for a little better protection upon startup
