While Deepfake technology has gathered a lot of criticism for generating fake news, and rightfully so, given how powerful/convincing it can be, there are some humorous applications of it as well. One of them is ctrl shift face. He's been releasing doctored videos on his youtube channel. It's quite remarkable and hillarious, but scary at the same time, because you know that it can and is being misused as well.

Here are some examples based on Bill Hader's impressions of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Al Pacino. There is also another one on his channel where Arnold was replaced with Sylvester Stallone in the Terminator movie.

You can't. While this looks funny an it is on the surface, it can be twisted into a insidious tool as they will soon have voice synthesis to go along with it (if they don't already) and it is getting harder to detect even for the pros.

In the wrong hands, this could be weaponized to show a person of power and authority appearing to make declarations or news announcements.

Last year I had some interactions with the tax office, and the recmmendation of the agents there was to use the new voice recognition identification as a means of speeding up transactions.

With the rise in the last few years of the technology to collect and create voices...I cannot think of a LESS secure system...the day that they adopted it, they were two years behind the fraud game.
