At that cost then no need to stress over it. Yes they stuffed up and you lost your RP a few k-miles short, but it sounds like they've taken care of you alright. You've got some nice fresh oil in there for winter and that's not going to do any harm. Refill with your RP 5W30 when you start getting some warm weather up there in April or whatever.

Not sure if this issue is related to the oil change fiasco or not. Maybe someone can chime in, or maybe it's just because it's cold outside (15F to 20F, but I never had issues before). I normally don't go 3200RPM, especially for the first few minutes after the blue thermometer light turns off, so it's tough to say for 100% fact that this just started happening.

Between 3200RPM and 4000RPM, there is a whining noise from the front of the car. Sounded like a tea kettle going off. Got louder as the RPMs neared 4000. This was in CVT mode. The blue thermometer light already turned off, so the engine was warmed up enough to drive. When the engine has been run for 15 minutes or so, when it's fully warmed up, the noise stops, and I cannot replicate this issue. I shut the car down for a few hours, and repeat.

Cars make funny noises when they are in very cold. If it is temperature dependent, I wouldn't worry too much - monitor it of course. -25F here this morning (-40F with the wind chill). I call that Nasty!

I don't consider 20F very cold or anything a car isn't built to handle though. It'll be in the upper 30's later in the week, if it still does it then, I'll go to the dealer.

Which is unlikely going to happen, I would just move on. Just good luck on removing your drain plug and filter later.

What Dave said!

In MA, new car dealers aren't allowed to do inspections, and it's $29 every year.

Welcome to Taxachusetts.

As far as the oil I think it should be ok, but the bigger concern is the dealer. I personally would not go back there again.

Doing work without permission, incorrectly documenting work orders, what else are they doing or failing to do.
