1/2 inch drive #9 52061 bought a set of 5 from 14mm to 19mm "Made in the USA" from SEARS

Had a rounded 14mm brake caliper slide bolt. Hammered the socket on the bolt to get a good fit. At first I didn't think it would work, some slippage. Then held the ratchet wrench at a slight angle and got a firm fit and off the bolt came. $20 for the set.

Had the same problem with a caliper bolt on the truck...bought one of those and it came off with ease. I used it to put it back on to

. Just replaced it recently when I had to replace the caliper.

What mildly ticks me off is I saw them on sale 50% off a few times in the past and didn't buy. I did buy online with store PU so I did get a few dollars off.

Also from the replies it seems like us people in the rust belt have the need for them.

These are "one way trip" only, right? You need to have the replacement bolt on hand before using it, correct?

See post 2 by Warstud. Myself I bought new bolts ahead of time, I had no interest to reuse the old damage one, which I barely got off.

Before using this tool one assumes the bolt head is damaged beyond use. If you can get a 6 pt socket on the bolt head and it fits on properly thats your best bet.

I am half guessing many people using this tool did not start with a 6 pt socket.

Myself the only sockets I use are 6 pt. and the type that grabs the flats of the head not the corner. My 6 pt was spinning freely around the head.
