Commercial from Glock

Nice and funny commercial. I think armed security in schools (after all, the social elite already have armed security) in the case of a police officer or a concealed carry teacher, is at least some deterrent to evil and mentally ill people who want to achieve instant 'fame' by killing as many school children as they can. The armed teacher is at least a road bump to the attacker who is slowed getting to the students and perhaps even prevented getting to the students.

Some people want to put signs in front of schools and other places saying the these places are gun free zones. Such signs do not deter and rather encourage the attacker. The attacker wants to kill and obtains a weapon or weapons and likes that the school is a 'gun free zone.'

Evil and deranged people exist. Give the teachers in the schools at least a fighting chance to defend themselves and their students.

Just love these kind of claims...

In 2005, as a rampage unfolded inside a shopping mall in Tacoma, Washington, a civilian named Brendan McKown confronted the assailant with a licensed handgun he was carrying. The assailant pumped several bullets into McKown and wounded six people before eventually surrendering to police after a hostage standoff. (A comatose McKown eventually recovered after weeks in the hospital.)

In Tyler, Texas Mark Wilson fired his licensed handgun at a man on a rampage at the county courthouse. Wilson—who was a firearms instructor—was shot dead by the body-armored assailant, who wielded an AK-47.

Gabby Gifford....

There was a good guy with a gun, Kelly, veteran of Desert Storm and a gun owner said, the day Jared Loughner shot Giffords and 18 other people, six fatally, at her "Congress on Your Corner" event.

"[A man came out] of the store next door and nearly shot the man who took down Jared Loughner," Kelly said. "The one who eventually wrestled [Loughner] to the ground was almost killed himself by a good guy with a gun, so I don't really buy that argument."

Guess not.

It's pretty stupid to walk up to someone doing a mass shooting like that. You have a side arm ... you don't need to be 3 feet away.

I do laugh at all of the anti gun people, I'll let your house get broken into

Being defenseless in your own home is somewhere I would not want to be, personally.

I dislike the basis that if the government says youre capable of CCW (and perhaps there should be a mental stability or other examination with it), that somehow you are not allowed to do so by a school.

That said, there are very good reasons to make schools drug and gun free zones - because it ups the penalties for those who are not supposed to have these items, when they come by.

So there is a pro and con to all this... But IMO if a proper permit exists, and, for example, a teacher had one (and the ability to secure their weapon without any student ever being knowledgeable of its existence), it seems only sensible to allow it on the premises.

Still posting dishonestly...and without sources no less. McKown and Wilson caused the bad guy to change their plans and saved lives by pushing the shooter out of the area they wanted to be in. The police praised Wilson for this.

I posted this before, yet you continue to post only half of the story.

The perpetrator could have been stopped before or during the events.
Obviously.
What does you having personal contact with the family have to do with reason?

In almost every scenario imaginable, the AR platform is better and safer to use than a handgun or shotgun for home defense. This is fact. If you claim otherwise, you do not know of what you speak.

US mass corporate media is NOT IMPARTIAL and does not give balanced reporting, that includes all mass media outlets, from CNN, to Fox News, to CBS, ect.

It's comical to think that the sheeple put ANY trust in that media or any large news outlet in the USA.

Read the article... One man is dead and his weapons are stolen. Anti-gun folks are using this as a basis of making the point that even an armed home may not do much good.

Which may indeed be the case, cue the Autozone fired worker thread.

But home defense is a personal decision, and while I still personally dont see the need for an AR-15 for home defense, I certainly dislike the commentary that the outcomes are the same.

Sure, in the states where gun laws are lax, violent crime rates do indeed seem to be HIGHER overall (weve discussed that on here before, no need in this thread), but even that is no basis to strip a decision upheld as recently as DC v Heller.

Just because you spent $4k dollars to trick out your AR does not mean someone is going to be any deader when you shoot them with it than if you shoot them with a load of buck shot. The best home defense is preparation and a good hiding spot.

Well, then how come most dummys writing for gun magazines have shotguns at home for their wives with #4s in them??
[At least a few years ago this was true - they took a poll]

Awesome commercials. Does anyone here have a gun safe like the one in the video (at time 0:15) where you place your hand on it and it unlocks in a second?
