Does anybody know of a cold air intake for an '08 Mustang GT that DOES NOT use oil soaking in the filter media? I ask because I'm wondering what types exist other than K&N (I will not use their filter products). Also, how much HP does this make in my vehicle? Is there any risk of messing anything up with the intake sensors etc.? I believe the newr Bullit mustang uses a cold intake but I don't know what brand it is....anybody know?
Opinions on pro's and con's would also be appreciated.

AEM Brute Force

aFe Stage 2 Cold Air Intake System Type Cx with Pro-Dry S

There may be more. I'm sure there are many Mustang forums which could provide insight. You could always buy your favorite system, and then use you own filter from AEM, aFe, or Amsoil.

I would just go with an Amsoil Eaa Air Filter or the AFE Pro Dry.

I have the AFE Pro Dry on my Marauder and really like it.

You already have the cold air intake.

You will only see more horsepower if you do some kind of aftermarket tune.

I know some guys who have put on a aftermarket cold air kits and they all have said the only difference they see is that the car makes more noise.

More noise? What kind of noise? I've already got 3" pipes so would I even notice? So you say no HP gain and that I already have a cold air intake? Didn't know that.

Since you have 3 inch pipes, you probably took the mufflers off, or put aftermarket mufflers on.

You have a cold air box on your Mustang already, everything I have read tells me that you will only gain power with a aftermarket cold air kit is when you do a tune.

I take it that your exhaust is pretty loud so you would not notice any noise in the engine, have you Googled cold air kits for your Mustang.

Yes, I've checked many websites dealing with the subject. Not much useful info...loads of hype and advertising.
I think I'll just leave it stock after all. I'm not going to screw around with it.

The problem I have with these companies who sell these products is that how do we know if they are telling the truth with there dyno work.

I would see if Amsoil has an Eaa Air filter or just call up AFE.

I find it hard to beleive there isn't hundreds of similar threads on the hundreds of Mustang forums out there. Read up, and buy the one with the best reviews.

There are plenty of Mustang Forums and other air filter sources on the net, you just have too look.

Hey guys....I know VERY well about the huge amount of Mustang sites out there. But have you ever tried to get a simple answer to a question like the one I asked? Those mustang enthusiast sites are very hard to wade through and for the most part the folks that use them are typically only concerned with expensive performance mods and such. Also, the info on those sites is not always the most accurate and pretty much caters to the younger 'tuner' mind-set. This is why I asked my air filter question here....on the BITOG air filter forum.
Thanks.

Those cold air intakes are a waste of money. Get the thing tuned by SCT or someone like that.

The intake is only going to make your motor sound louder, and you will hear a intake sucking sound.

Get it tuned..

Andrewg I believe what you are looking for is the Ford Motor Sports cold air kit. You can purchase this through Summit Racing or or any Ford dealer that sells Motor Sport Parts. If I remember correctly the best bang for the buck is the stage 1 package for the Mustang. I believe it supplys a cold air kit, hand held tuner or a chip. Problem is it also contains new mufflers and tips. You can always try Roush they also make a cold air kit. You really need a dyno tune to optimize what you are adding. Dont expect to much though. I think you will find only 10 to 15 hours power with exhaust and cold air. Somtimes not even that much.
