Difficult concept, that index...
So you're the guy at the Honda dealer who wouldn't let me leave until he set the clock and explained to me how to connect my phone via bluetooth because he assumed I couldn't read the owner's manual?
OP here,
Here is another doozy (non-oil related) that he said two weeks ago.
He just bought an AR and was curious about a local outdoor shooting range. He hunts every year (I should put hunts in quotes) and his dad is a gunsmith. I told him where it was and pulled up a satellite image on Google maps. I pointed out the area where pistols and rifle sighting in is usually, done which has about 100 spots. He asks me "Isn't it dangerous to go out and check your targets when people are shooting?"
If I hadn't been stunned I should have said, deadpanned, "You get bright orange vests with a flag attached to the back that sticks above your head. Just ask for it at the desk when you pay your fee."

Oddly enough, I witnessed the same thing when I took my buddy in to pick up his new Honda.
Every customer I ever had was an expert woodworker and machinist.
Those that weren't were ex snipers. Meanwhile they all ask you stupid nonsense questions that give them away and they have no idea how foolish they look.
Me? I ain't nothing. I just work to pay my bills and I'm happy with that!

No and no. I only offered to help; if people wanted to go ahead and leave that was fine.
Well good. After being at the dealer for over four hours on New Years Eve, and more than an hour after they officially closed, this guy was determined to do it for us and was not getting the hint that we knew how to read and that WE JUST WANTED TO GO HOME.

That's just inconsiderate. If a customer wanted me to go over features I asked them how much time they had and tailored my presentation to suit the customer's schedule.
