I did not notice any residue on the carpets, I don't even recall having any residue on my shoes.
The first few times I used the tire foam, the matts were slippery, but that's because I used the same amount as on the tires. The main thing I would worry about is any of the residue transferring over to the break petal over time making it slick then having to hit the breaks in an emergency and my foot sliding off. Glad to hear its not leaving any noticeable residue, I was a bit worried about that when you said you used tire foam. I use Surf City Beyond Black and 3m tire restorer and they both leave a slick residue.
