I still wish I had it. As far as Hyundai, check out the 2011 Sonata. I have this one pegged for a top seller, as do most of the car mags- a seriously nice ride.
The Hyundai brand may not be appealing to some (a trait shared with Chrysler, actually.) But the cars seem to be built well, and the warranty can't be beat.
The reason you can buy your Chryslers so cheaply is because they are subsidized- they don't seem to sell well at all without large rebates or discounted financing (or both)..a good thing for you. Me? I look at it another way- a good price on a substandard product isn't a good deal.
I wish FIAT the best of luck with Chrysler, really. They do seem to make some fine cars now, and when they come back to the US, I hope they do well I am doubtful, however: Damlier (Mercedes) makes some fine cars, and they couldn't make it work.
Oh lord, another person using a car magazine ranking/customer satisfaction poll to somehow justify their point.
You really don't think those rankings mean anything do you? Please tell me you don't. Those car magazines, despite claims of being consumer based or no agenda, ALL have biases and agendas. I wouldn't wipe my butt with an article from JD Powers let alone use it( or any car magazine )to determine what vehicle I should buy. If you base your opinions on what they say, or what they say others say( ie; consumers ), you are being foolish. Research vehicles by speaking with real owners not these phantom owners these car magazines supposedly base their rankings and reviews on. OY!
I have a news flash for you from someone who has owned a lot of new Chrysler products dating back to the 80's. Their vehicles are just fine. No major problems at all. 1 Starter, 1 AC Line, and then standard maintenance is pretty much it for ALL of the vehicles from them I have had. Well, the rebadged Mitsubishi did blow a head gasket but it was fixed right off at no charge. Just no problems with the vehicles from Chrysler at all. I laugh when people say they make lousy products. They make vehicles as good as ANY mfg out there. They have some in their lineup that are not as good as others but what mfg does not?
BTW - Daimler didn't try and make it work to be accurate. They merged with Chrysler for ONE reason and that was to syphon off the BILLIONS( yes it was BILLIONS )in cash reserves Chrysler had. When Daimler took over Chrysler was in the best shape of any car mfg( selling in NA anyway ).Daimler bled them dry and then dumped then on Cerberus who just did nothing. About the only good that came from the merger was the 300 series cars.
Also, for the record, my new Chrysler product came with a lifetime power train warranty. I would say that is pretty good.
