What is the best/easiest device to keep someone from a shared bathroom, from entering another person's bedroom? I am thinking that the solution is to install a swing bar lock that hotels use. Are there any others? The situation is one bathroom in between two bedrooms, and both bedrooms have access to the bathroom. I need to install a device to keep a stranger from entering the bathroom from one of the bedrooms, and entering the other bedroom. It would be installed on the bathroom door, but on the side of the bedroom.

A barrel door bolt would not allow the door to partially open, unlike the hotel swing bar. The real question is how do you prevent one individual from entering the bathroom while it is being occupied by the other?

That looks good. There is a swing bar lock installed already, but it is old, and was actually getting engaged while the person went from the bedroom into the bathroom, keeping the person from going back into their own bedroom. I thought I'd just have to install a new one, but you are correct, that looks like it will work better.

A mild deterrent. I'm not looking to deter professional bad guys or ex-Navy SEALS, just someone who forgets what door to open, or perhaps a drunken prank, something like that.
