Agreed! After reading many posts regarding GM on these boards, it's also pretty clear why. But, because of the R/S/P policy I won't go there. Nuff said.

NO MATTER WHAT the American tax payer will see NOTHING from the government's "loan" to the auto manufacturers. They will find some way to sweep it under the rug or find some excuse as to why they shouldn't have to repay it, and it will fly, because interest groups elect politicians. I am against the bailout because it is unfair to every other business in the country. What about the medium-sized businesses that went under that no one heard about? Why couldn't the auto industry just plain file for chapter 11? Would that have been so bad, why did they need hundreds of billions for the same outcome?

They say that if a joke brings a smile to your face, it has to have a little truth to it.
Your quote made me laugh.

Some of us don't care either way. We'd just like to see our $$ back.

If you want your $$$ back, then I would hope you'd want them to succeed. Somehow I have the feeling that the ones who don't care about American industries will be the first to snivel about their McDonald's paycheck not being able to pay the rent on the trailer.

That certainly follows.

Or just maybe the people who think that the market should have been left to work are those that that have made their $ at successful business's. And because of that they don't care to see their money thrown away on those that have failed...

IMO people are hard on GM because GM burnt a lot of bridges and people are tired of them. Hard to forget putting Chevy engines in Buicks, or Chevette transmissions in some of their full sized cars.

Here's a link to chevy of germany.

Throw on some 17 inch wheels and the bike rack on the Base car, and I'm ready to go!

I'll take mine in Morrocan Blue mit:
1991 ccm Diesel Schaltgetriebe (MT)
Gummi-Passformmatten
Schmutzfänger, komplettes Set

Speaking of small cars, Ford better get their Fiesta here soon. Also, what is the hold-up on the new Focus. The NA Focus is so hideous! It does drive well, however.

Yeah, but while GM need not actually equal Honda or Toyota with this car, they must at least offer the same perceived level of quality and refinement as Hyundai.
GM has built great trucks for the past twenty or so years.
GM needs to rebuild its reputation for producing great cars.
General Motors cannot afford to bring the Cruze to market until all issues of development have been resolved.

Hahahaha....it was long in the tooth just after Chevy started selling it. Kinda like how the Cadavilier was old before it debuted.

Bottom line is that GM (in the USA has NEVER been able to design, build, and sell a really good small USDM car....ever.

The Cruze (Astra) may be a good model, but the delays are inexcusiable. They know darn well that this is a bread and butter product for them.

I know the new Opel Astra (sister car) just debuted in Europe, anyone has the low down on it.?

I'd rather see it be delayed a few months for the launch to be right.

Buick did not offer every option on the early LaCrosse models.
