Clement, went to East Greenbush Walmart last night. Yes, they had newer batches of Chevron 5w30 on the shelves but it was GF-3 stuff. Forgot to look at the batch date. Oops.

"If you guys are having trouble finding Chevron Supreme, do you have Checker, Shucks or Kragen stores in your area?"

Nope, not around here.

Cutehumor, I'm not sure it's an anti-Castrol backlash. I think it's a backlash against an industry that is trying to sell a new 'flavor' or 'gimmick' every month. High mileage oils, Truck & SUV oils, synthetics, blends, etc ...

Went to the Latham Walmart last night. I didn't think Chevron could get worse product placement in these stores ... but there it was, waaaay up on the top shelf where even I (a 6 footer with long arms) couldn't reach it. When I did get it down, it was GF-3. I'd have bought some, but I'm awfully stocked up right now.

It probably couldn't hurt for people to ask their local Wal Mart managers to carry Chevron Supreme. Maybe if they hear it enough they will stock it on a regular basis. They already carry Havoline so they wouldn't have to go out of their way to get it.

In So Cal the new GF-4 5w30 stuff is everywhere. I just put in 4 fresh quarts yesterday . The fun your having makes me want to start checking the odometers.I was in Autozone no GC or Chevron BUT a fresh batch of Castrol Syntec Blend GF-4

Its going to be hard for many in the know to justify synthetics when probably most GF-4's have Group III mixed in. For sure all of Conoco's oils have the majority of their base Group III
