Chevron Delo SYN 5W40 - 4.3L Merc

Has anyone tried or considered trying Chevron Delo Synthetic 5W40 in a marine application? I'm currently using the Delo 15W40 Mulitgrade in a 4.3L Mercruiser EFI engine and it seems to be working well for my application. Any thoughts or suggestions please let me know!

I'm currently using Shell Rotella T 5W-40 Syn in my 360ci SBC marine engine. It's got close to 65hours on it from this summer and it still looks good. Holding very good oil pressure also. Will see for sure how the UOA comes out this fall. These GrpIII syn's from Chevron and Shell are about the same. I would go ahead and use the better made Mobil 1 Truck @ SUV 5W-40 though if I could do it over again. $20-5qts @ Wallmart

JonS, It's a Sheehan Racing balanced & blueprinted 4bolt Marine block. Holley 750cfm double pumper carb, 285hours on current engine.

What year, carb or injected? How many hours on motor?

running mobil 5w-40 in my 3.0L Merc, 2002 engine. Runs great so far.

It's a 2004 MPI I guess that stands for "multi port injection"? Boat has about 120 hours on it since June of last year.
