All previous samples were with a Motorcraft FL820S oil filter. The last two were with a Baldwin B329 oil filter(Thanks Dan4510). All previous samples were with a Motorcraft FA1744 air filter. Napa Silver 26253 air filter was installed when i put in the last batch of Mobil 1.
Driving was 70/30 City/Highway with some towing of my boat. -Joe

Geez Joe,If your wear numbers keep trending down like this any more, the'll be negative soon!Refill with Chevron Supreme? Running any of the "Good Stuff" I sent you?

How's the boat running?Fishing good at Ossabaw Island?

Any particular reason why the low OCI? Seems to be wasting money when comparing that with your results. Oil could go a lot further. I don't feel your getting a good enough idea as to how this oil is intereacting with your engine. I mean, if you always wash your car, it will always be clean.

Mark - Boat is running good, fish are not biting, and the Beautiful Gerogia Coast, particularly Ossabaw Island, remains beatiful

Schmoe - For a $7 oil change including filter, don't worry about the low OCI. It does mean something, since I wanted to compare it to the 2900 mile runs of the Mobil Drive Clean Blend. I also wanted to change at 3000, since it was my first batch of Chevron since running the Mobil 1. I plan on extending out to 4500-5000 on the next interval.

Motorbike - You are correct. I like to keep the oil changed aroun 3K, but no longer than 5K per Ford's strict warranty requirements on mileage. Since I have the 80,000 mile warranty, I will stick with 5000 mile OCIs for a while

Joe,

I can't believe that you switched from Mobil I. You have enough on hand that Wal-Mart gets their emergency supply from you when they run out.

Tony, I have so much oil on hand that all of my neighbors and boating buddies ask me for stuff when they get low, and don't feel like going into town, LOL, Joe

Another fine showing by a mass market $.99 / quart motor oil. Most impressive.

BITOG results have just about convinced me to give up my $5/quart motor oil habits!

John

I think Joe's deal is he is still under warranty thus the 3k changes .

Can't blame him for playing it safe .

Look at the sulfur in this supposed 100% group II oil .

I know moly is compounded using sulfur " thio " but man, thats alot for the basestock used in this oil .

Someone speak up , what's the deal with that ?
