FWIW I add a light to my GFCI in the garage to be able to tell if the power is still on to the circuit. This has solved my issues.

Just my $0.02

A outdoor thermometer might work if the garage isnt too far from the house. Put the sensor in the freezer and mount the receiver inside the house, but yeah, it's not an alarm.

Like this = https://www.amazon.com/ThermoPro-TP...jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==

Edit = or WITH an alarm for the freezer

Colvin, we probably need more info from you. Do you want just an audible alarm for when you are home, or do you want something to notify you anywhere/anytime (phone alert)? Price range? I was a bit disappointed in a quick search that none of the inexpensive phone alert offerings seem to be from long established companies, i.e., Taylor.

I’m looking for a good phone alert , price isn’t a major concern.

I thought this was going to be a surfing-related post. 🏄‍♀️

PS: The surfing emoji looks nothing like the one in the pop-up menu.

I use these
I like them and they are reliable

At work I use an old school SensaPhone system for our walk-in freezers and coolers. It is an established company, the unit is very simple and reliable, BUT it needs a land-line phone to work. A bit spendy for home use, but I can provide advice if wanted.

In my very quick online search (no use experience), the tempstick that BeerCan mentions is one of two products that comes up most often with good reviews. Another product called SensorPush looks promising, but they are an upstart company: https://www.sensorpush.com/

Sensorpush looks interesting but the sensors are Bluetooth it seems. So you need to get the wifi gateway to monitor remotely. The wifi gateway brings its own limitations with where sensors can be placed.

The tempsticks have wifi built in, so as long as the can see the wifi they can be monitored.

I like the tempsticks. I would probably be ok with sensorpush if all the sensors are at one location. That way I would only need one wifi gateway.

tl;dr
I like tempsticks better :)
