that I just picked up this week:

I'm going to order some Amsoil and swap out some fluids next weekend.

I have in mind:

Engine flush
5w30 motor oil
EaO oil filter

75w-90 gear fluid

Manual trans fluid-according to Amsoil, I can use universal trans fluid for this application.

Power steering fluid

Clutch fluid (DOT 3)

Brake fluid (DOT 3)

Coolant

Am I missing anything here?

I want to change for my sake of mind.

Are any additives necessary?

Any tips or techniques to make things go easier?

for the brake fluid, will the vehicle be track driven at all? i ask because you might want to use a DOT 4 if that is the case.

a good friend of mine has a Z06 that he takes to numerous track days and he regularly sees 1200+F brake temps and 300+F engine oil temps.

You can use either Amsoil ATF or Amsoil ATD for trans, I used Amsoil ATD, I think it is a "better fit".

Also, may want to use GM's clutch fluid, it has special lubrication, sometimes clutch squeaks with regular Dot 3.

Nope, it will not see the track at all.

Also, isn't there a tool where I can bleed the brakes without a helper?

In either the slave or master cylinder. Corvettes have hydraulic clutches.

I don't think I'd use 5w30 oil in the Z06's engine. If it was me, I'd stick with M1 0W-40 or one of the many "European formula" 5W-40 synthetics.

I'm pretty sure the FF is 5w30 M1.

Edmond,

The LS1/6 seems to love German Castrol 0W-30. It's a thick 30 weight on the upper end, and it did quiet down my LS1 compared to the M1 10W-30 I was using. It also holds up very well.

This month it's on sale at AZ with the K&N oil filter (one of the very best filters for that application), 5 quarts for $28.

Nothing wrong with Amsoil (I use that for transmission and differential applications), but if you want something readily available for a good price, you can't go wrong with GC.

And you are correct on the factory fill.
