The oil did a little better with the spark plugs changed, air filter changed, and some FP60 used from about 1-2K in the OCI. PCV valve was to be changed, but I didn't have time to do so. 1850 miles of this OCI was within a 28 hour period. The oil thickened out of grade a little this time. No apparent fuel dilution.

The particle count of the Baldwin filter was less than stellar.

These results are essentially the same, however you had a bit less fuel dilution this time, hence the viscosity and the FP are both a bit higher.

I think you are indeed correct. I had forgotten that CG runs at about 12cST. I was going by Blackstone's number range. Thanks for the reminder.

I learned today how to post an image. So, here it is if you didn't have straight columns above. FYI, I do have straight columns with medium view in both IE and Firefox. The image is only 165K so shouldn't be too bad for dial-up users.

If you're going to put that many miles on in that short a time, I'm guessing you could easily go another 2-3k miles, maybe more.

Don't forget, virgin GC green (I think M03 or M04) has 3ppm iron and 1 ppm Al IIRC.

Did you change this oil?

TBN looks a little low, but I understand blackstone's TBN's read lower?

Jim,

I did change the oil as I'm slowly increasing OCI limits.

I did have Terry take a look. I need to get that PCV changed (I have to order them as the dealer...even in Birmingham...does not carry it) per Terry. Then, as you indicated...I'm to take it out to 7K or 8K. Good call there Jim.

The big shock to Terry was the dramatic increase in paticle count from the K&N and this Baldwin B-233. He didn't know I had changed the oil filter and was a little freaked out by the increase. He thought I was still running a K&N filter. Next filter up for the test is a Pure One PL14476 (same size as the Baldwin). The results should be interesting. Particle count will be taken around 5K with the oil left in this time to probably 7K.

Prior UOA with particle count (K&N filter).
