Final Update:

It's been almost three weeks, right?

Anyways, I took a look under the oil cap, and saw that the green mucus was completely gone now (it was covered in it, and I didn't wipe it away the first time I saw it), the color of the oil is right back where it should be, a clear tan.

CONCLUSION: WATER DOES NOTHING TO OIL!!!!!!! (half a quart of water to 4.5 quarts of oil, exactly) Eventually it evaporates due to engine heat. No effects on running condition. Nada. Perfectly safe.

I can't really tell, chevrofreak.

Two days ago I filled the tank up with 3 oz of acetone, and she growls with more vibrato now (musical term, look it up) and starts with 2/3 cranks in the morning, as opposed to the usual 5/6. But I really think these improvements are from the acetone, not the water cleaning.

But If you're asking about the effectiveness of the water cleaning, well, the tops of my pistons are not fully clean, but way better than the pitch black they were before.

Whatever it does or does not do to the oil is irrelevent. How well do you think water lubricates? Have you ever torn down an engine that has been run with a serious amount of water in the oil? Perfectly safe, huh? Try this, for now on just put half water and half oil, keep topping off the water and save yourself some money.

Yeah Yeah, I know its not PERFECTLY safe. But half a quart of water to 4.5 quarts of oil, and not driven hard, equals mostly safe. :)

FWIW I would have run it till the water evaporated completely the only thing different I would have done is evaporate the water in one long hot run instead of letting it go weeks

All I can say is 100% dino oil is a better lube than 90% Mobil1 and 10% water, and much cheaper both in oil cost and engine repair cost.

Years ago I rigged up a line going from the windshield washer jar filled with water to the carburetor on my 68' Dodge Coronet.
As I would be driving the car down the road I would hit the button for the windshled washers, then water would inject down the carb and breakup the carbon.
On my 91' Crown Vic I attach a line going to one of the vacuum ports on the intake manifold sucking in the water that way.

I do my vehicals once a year. I suck a gallon of water in through one of the vacuum hoses. The best way that I have found is to go to local drug store and get a Hyperdermic needle. They are about 25cents. Then I take a piece of tubing and attach the needle to the end then I stick one end in the gallon of water and poke the needle into the vacuum hose. It takes about 10 to 20 min to suck up the entire gallon at idleing speeds. I have also done the same thing, but used the windshield washer reservoir. Fill it up with fluid or water, and just do the same as above but stick the end in the reservoir. Then take it for a drive. When the light on the dash goes on to refill fluid, you are done.

Don't hurt yourself!

I thought you needed a script to buy needles/syringes? Seems like a good way to meter the flow of water if you can get them. I think the pin used to pump up a ball will work too.

I got a hold of a coiled hose with a brass hose adapter on one end and a threaded adapter on the other with a small..maybe .1" hole to suck through. Worked well. When I got done with about half a gallon of water there was a black puddle under the tailpipe about the size of my palm.
