Does anyone know any cheap online places to order filters from in Canada? I screwed by fleetfilter with border fees once and learnt my lesson.

I'd like to find out as well.

You didn't get screwed by fleetfilter, you got screwed by UPS.

fleetfilter uses UPS for all of it's shipping, so you got screwed by UPS and their crazy brokerage fees.

I refuse to buy from anyone that ships from the US to Canada and uses UPS for shipping.

More than once I've asked Fleetfilter to give us USPS as a shipping option. The ridiculous brokerage fees are not there with USPS.

I've been trying to figure out the same thign too.

The best scenario is rockauto.com i need to order some parts for a car and its even cheaper to get it from that site so I'll just add filters. They haev there OWN BROKER so no duties or even taxes to pay on delivery and they ship fedex.

but it only works out if ur buying somethign u need.

in my case its a wheel bearing so I know a couple filters are not going to tack on too much to shipping so thats what i'm going to be doing.

Fleetfilter's issues, IIRC, are that they're using a proprietary UPS combined inventory/shipping software package.

I wonder what happens if they just "vapor ship" it to themselves and pull the package and put it out with the mail

They've got to have ways to adjust their inventory just for error correction. There's no reason that Canadian customers can't be adjusted inventory errors ..so to speak.

If you ask the guy at your local Napa store to give you a deal, on 10 or more Napa Golds, he usually will.He quoted me $6.69 a filter if I purchase in bulk.Regular single price is $10 or so.

6.69 is still big dollars for a filter. Yeah, I'm cheap. =-) I want my $2.xx ACD back.

Fleet filter should definately look at usps options for Canadians. They'd win one more customer if they did.

Alex.

I ordered my last ones from RockAuto.com. They had a shipping fee that included duty and brokerage. They also sell Wix filters.

Well, i can get the wix filter for my grand cravan from carquest, with the nitril adbv for about $3.50. Bought about 6 champ ecore type filters for about $3.00 a piece at a local parts store. Also, there are always deals on like a jug of oil with free filter. Bought six jugs of castrol gtx 5w30 with free fram filter for $11.00.

Who says you can't get cheap oil filers here in Canada?

My car needs cartridge filters, and they are not cheap.

$10.18 for a Napa Gold, $9.95 at Carquest, $12.00 at the dealership. Even the Fram at Wal-mart is now over $10.

If you really don't want a Fram, why not get a Quaker State Filter from C-T for $6.99?

Personally, I have no problem with Frams, and just use an orange can, or a re-labeled Motomaster one.....never had a problem....

I think ---- Tire has more filters in the back, you have to ask at the parts desk.

RockAuto.com has Pro-Tec filters for $1.50, I think they're made by Wix but with lesser components, probably at least the equal of an orange can Fram. Regular Wix are ~$4.00. I usually order a bunch of stuff so the shipping is not so bad.

"If you really don't want a Fram, why not get a Quaker State Filter from C-T for $6.99?"

I heard that Canadian market QS filters are made by Fram too. Only in the US are they made by Purolator. Anyone have any additional info?

I've done some digging around and for me, RockAuto is the best deal I can find for AC Delco brand filters (oil and cabin) even though it is a US web site.

Even with shipping, it's about $50 cheaper than the dealership parts counter for 2 oil filters and 2 cabin filters.

You can order filters straight from Champion Labs, or you might actually be able to find a distributer or dealer that uses Luber-Finer in Canada. If you call 1800-882-0890, you can find out what filter you will need, and they can transfer you to our customer service, who deals with filter ordering and location of dealers and distributers. You have to order in bulk, but that usually gets you a better price anyways.

I received my AC Delco oil and cabin filters from RockAuto today.

Even after paying the PST and GST and the Fedex processing fee, I still came out ahead compared to buying at the dealership.

What I bought from RockAuto for $70.87 (taxes and fees in) would have cost $114.91. I saved almost $45, which is the about the cost of one cabin filter at the dealership.
