Can I use valvoline max life ATF for 1gen crv?

Check the owner's manual to find out what fluid needs to be used. Download it or get one from the dealer if you don't have it. Then, go to Valvoline's website and see if it meets the spec.
 
You should be in good shape, but check the Valvoline website to be sure as was suggested.

When I first read crv in your thread title, I saw CVT (continuously variable transmission) which seem to take special fluid.
 
You are fine with Valvoline Maxlife ATF in your CRV as long as it's an automatic. The CRV was filled with ATF-Z1 from the factory.

Don't use Maxlife in your rear differential though, you have to use dual pump fluid from Honda for that (if you have the AWD model).

I had a 2001, was a nice little SUV, if it wasn't stolen we would still be driving it.
