I go to the Chevron station - ALL grades over $2 gallon!

So for the first time in my owning the Volvo 245Ti, I put 87 regular in. All I can say is: No boost for this tank! I mean all heck breaks loose when the turbo comes on....like dropping pea gravel in the cc...

I'll splash some octane boost in soon and top up with 92.....

Welcome to my world.

Always run the B230 with 87 octane. Cheaper than the high grade stuff but without the fun of the turbo. At least I got 200cc on you with no boost.

Guys, in europe we pay $4.35 for a gallon of gas...

Augh, I tried 89 instead of 91 in my Audi, and though it ran fine, the mileage went down like you wouldn't believe. It was really a bad trade!

regular is $1.51 around here which is super high. highest I have seen gas prices were 1.59 early this year. Lowest I remember gas prices was Exxon regular 71 cents a gallon, six years ago.

Yep, can do nothing about that. The whole of europe works like that

with gas prices in the $4 range, I can see why most Europeans drive smaller cars. can't blame them.

Every time I go to Europe I always say to myself, "Welcome to Europe where everything costs twice as much as it should." Except, of course, for Switzerland where everything costs 6x what it should.

Just filled up the beast today. $1.86 per gal for 93 octane. I paid 1.65 last week for 93. Parked next to me at the pump was a Cadilliac Escalade.
I almost busted out laughing at the woman pumping gas into it.

You should have seen her face when she looked at the pump and realized what the price per gallon was. I wonder what it cost her to fill it. When I paid and came back out to leave she was still pumping.
Thank God I own a 4 cylinder Turbo that gets at the worst 20 mpg city.

And people wonder why I never want to get rid of her. I bet there a bunch of very unhappy campers out there with those big V8's and V10's in their pickups.

I live in southern Indiana. About 50 miles south of Bloomington, (IU). And 50 miles north of Louisville, KY. Went to work this morning and gas was $1.47 a gallon. On the way home the price had jumped to $1.80. This is for 86 octane. I use 92 in my Toyota 4x4 and it was $1.97. It has been around $1.40 for the past month or so.

Demand for diesel is more constant than gasoline. Also, many truckers pay for their own diesel, and a large price hike in diesel would bring a lot of shipments to a standstill, since it wouldn't be profitable for them to drive and pay the higher prices.

Also factor in that production of heating oil has not ramped up yet. When that happens, the price of diesel will also head up as another product is competing for the same fractions of the crude.

Also factor in a huge chunk of Diesel is pre-paid (or hedged) if you will to bolster against price hikes like this.
