This is one of the best (if not the best) songs ever, at least in my books. I never get tired of it, no matter how many times I hear it. The lyrics are OK, but the music alone is worth a million bucks, and combined they're a masterpiece.

Not a particularly big fan of Knopfler's most recent work, but back in those days, the guy created and delivered some really outstanding tracks.

Here's one of the better live versions of Brothers in Arms.

If anyone knows of other good renditions, either by Mark or someone else, post them up.

My friend used to like to use that as 'mood' music for him & his gf's. It *is* good for that too I guess. LOL

Yes, this album is one of the best of the entire genre.

nice CD, great SQ, great music, esp. brothers...
unfortuantely the original CDs volume level is SO freaking low...heard they fixed that in the remastered versions later.
very good guitar playing, too, of course.

I've always found this CD to be amazingly clear & free of overproduction. Each nuance of every instrument came thru w/o too much muddy bass or too little high-end.

Nearly a masterpiece of production IMO.

It is extraordinarily rare that one of the six slots in my car CD player does not have something that Knopfler/DS did.
