Broke another MT-82

Rain. Oh, and I noticed Caltrans filling potholes and blocking off freeways the days leading up to the rain, as if someone said to them "get it done before the storm, no matter how many hours you have to close the freeway".

Somehow tracking information on kind of important things always disappears.

I ordered a transmission for a Traverse this week, GM was out of stock on it, so they sprinted it from another dealer. It was coming from MO. FedEx tracking showed it had not been picked up two days after the scheduled pick up date. I called the dealer who was shipping it, they said it went out, but to a different dealer. At that point I was about to lose it. I was minutes away from getting GM to send out another sprint order (non returnable) on this transmission when FedEx shows up and drops it off. Tracking info still not updated. I'm glad it worked out, but it was a hair pulling experience to say the least. $3K transmission with a $1K core and nobody knew where it was.

I love mustangs and have been paying very close attention to cardinals posts and I've gotta admit serious disappointment in fords attention to this matter, and how many people it's happening to.

It makes me shudder since I wanted to buy one of these.
It also galvanizes my decision to boost my charger rather than buy a mustang. An extra 100hp/tq blows the doors off most new mustangs, with luxury unmatched in a mustang.
It hurts but I'll get over it,with every patch of melted rubber I lay in my wake.

I got a 2014 Mustang V6 Convertible for a loaner instead of the Versa. I also found out I get to work tomorrow, so I will be able to check my trans in, but not have it touched until Monday.

This sounds very frustrating.
I'd be afraid to take a long trip in this car which is really a shame for one that you just bought new. A gearbox failure near home is one thing, but a gearbox failure a couple of states away would be a royal pain.
What is the underlying problem?
Bad design?
Bad manufacture/assembly?
Inadequate for the torque?

Install it, and if you cannot lemon-law the car...honestly, at this point, I would dump it for whatever I could get and buy something else. (Challenger RT, probably.)

So, your (previous) tranny was a rev-A, built in 120413, and this one is a rev-D, built in 061514. Am I reading those carton stickers correctly?

You must really love the car, if it were me after that trans was installed I'd drive it right over to the Lexus dealer and get a nice IS. Than park a nice quality product at the Ford dealer you work at every day.

I had a 14 Fusion as a rental Monday and I was not impressed with it. The sync is useless, I gave up after 20 minutes on getting it to work with my Iphone. If I bought an F150 with it, I'd have it replaced with an aftermarket system.

Tech just took the new unit along with all the associated hardware to his stall. Old one is on its way out as we speak.

I didn't realize how much I liked the car until I was forced to drive rentals for a week.

They gave me a Nissan Versa at first, which was ok for what it was I guess. It was actually nice having something with no power that I could throw around without having to worry about speeding. It was rather sad having a Prius pass me on an on-ramp when I was WOT.

Then I had a 2014 red V6 Mustang convertible for the weekend. Not a bad car really, but it was missing a lot of options. Enterprise apparently let their Sirius subscription lapse, so I had to listen to terrestrial radio. The V6 was actually impressive, it is the 3.7L so it has 300hp. The automatic was decent, but boring. Also Enterprise must not check off any option boxes because the passenger seat was all manual.

Yes because we all know that they are "the epitome of perfection".

I would pay for (on my OWN dime), and install myself (if necessary) a built TR6060, or T56, before I ever did the above (and STILL be WAY ahead of the game!!).

I fail to see the humor in that.

Why should the owner of a new vehicle need to modify it to make it work as the factory intended? Its a defective vehicle.

Lexus does not make anything that excites me. The LFA maybe, but everything else is either too boring, or looks like it is trying too hard. Currently the only car from Japan I would be remotely interested in buying is a Nissan GT-R, and for that money I would rather have a Z06. At this point, I would rather have a Chevy SS sedan since they can be ordered with a manual. Any German options are too expensive.

The car is done, the old trans was bad from the start, long story, but it had issues before it was in my car.

As an update, the new trans feels amazing. No slop in the shifter at all, gear engagement has a very positive feel. Happy with the car again.

COOL!

Maybe they really did make running improvements to it along with MUCH better/stricter QC. (Let's keep our fingers crossed!)

Well this time I actually got a new assembly. Long story, but the factory units have the VIN laser etched in them. The one that came out of my car this time had the VIN from another customer's car on it.

So are you saying your own dealership took a used transmission out of a customer's car and stuck it in yours the last time? If so, that is all kinds of messed up.
