Only about 40 hours because it’s the second filter change on a new replacement engine. I’m sure many of you can instantly identify the maker based on these pix. Overall it looks fine even though I don’t really see what makes it different than a typical 3614-sized filter for water cooled auto engines.

If the same size, what makes it different than the standard 3614 automotive application is the price and the Briggs name. As a rule, OPE filters cost more than an equivalent 3614 application filter. And frequently the 3614 will have a silicone adbv for the same or often less money. Filter looks fine at 40 hours, as one would expect. Looks barely used in fact.

So, what oil filter went back on?

The same. I bought a couple when Rural King had them on sale. I wanted to keep a B&S filter on it while it was still under warranty just in case they were looking for reasons to deny service. I’ll leave this one on longer. I think B&S says these filters are good for 100 hours.
