Bostitch air compressor oil

Hey everybody,

I have a Bostitch air compressor, not sure the exact age. I believe it was made in Italy.

It is stamped on the case “15 W 40 diesel oil” but everything I have read online suggests never to use such a thing in a compressor and instead some other variety of compressor oil, with which I am totally unfamiliar.

Who is right, the OEM or the Internet experts?

The makes says 15w-40. Go with that.

I agree with OEM recommendations but I think any compressor oil with a ISO 100 or 150 would be up to the task. Amsoil PCK would fit the bill perfectly.
