Bob W was a Schaeffer's rep, a CLS, and wanted a website to educate people about lubrication. His "Question of the Day" was one of the educational threads to help people obtain their Certified Lubrication Specialist credentials.
A great guy and very helpful. He came up with all types of interesting oil tests for the backyard experimenter.
His health later failed and he sold the site.
The first person (Number 2) I suspect was either his website manager/admin or Terry Dyson.
I was a newcomer compared to Johnny and Bror Jace.
Here is a list of the first 12 members. 1. not used, 2. Bob W. 3. Stuart Hughes 4. Don M. 5. Sprintman 6. Patman 7. Bio-T (Tony) 8. Kevin in Texas 9.Terry 10. Johnny 11. Krholm 12. David (David Soloman).

A little bit of history of this site. Before this version here started, there was another message board that Bob ran but it was one of those old fashioned type message boards which wasn't easily layed out but it would have all of the topic titles on one page and below each title would be a clickable link to the reply. For instance it looked something like this:
Code:
Topic: Mobil 1 vs Maxlife
Response 1
Response 2
Response 3
Response 4
So those of us that are the first 20-30 members were all the ones who regularily posted on that version of the message board, so when Bob announced it was moving over to a proper message board, us regulars signed up pretty much right away.
